ARY Digital Network (also Dubai-based), which is joint telecast rights holder with Taj (separate territories) is launching its DTH services in the US on the Dish Network with this super high octane series. Dish expects to rake it in and has no qualms about playing up to the overarching "pop patriotism" that the Indian and Pakistani communities display in the West.
ARY has not held back from using war like metaphors in the way it has branded the series, terming it the LoC (Lions of Cricket and not Line of Control mercifully) series.
It may be recalled that when Sony Entertainment launched its events and movies channel MAX, it did so with the telecast of the Sharjah series in which both India and Pakistan were contenders.
ARY Digital holds the telecast rights for the US, UK, Europe, Middle East and Australia, a company spokesperson revealed. In the UK ARY is available on BSkyB, while in the Middle East it is on Pehla Plus (DTH) and E-Vision (cable).

The Indian government, severely criticised by the opposition for supposedly linking the cricket tour of Pakistan to the forthcoming elections,has given a tentative go-ahead for the series. The initiative was taken by Atal Behari Vajpayee, India's Prime Minister, and Yashwant Sinha, the External Affairs minister, said as much in New Delhi this morning, leaving the BCCI with the onerous task of convincing several reluctant players to tour.
Sinha announced that the tour would proceed as scheduled after a meeting at the Prime Minister's residence. According to news reports, Vajpayee was especially keen that uncertainty over the tour shouldn't derail the peace process. The foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan are meeting on Monday, and cricket will certainly figure prominently on the agenda.

first-ever Bollywood charity show in Pakistan was cancelled following last minute denial of visas. The event will now be rescheduled for February 18 or March 22. The troupe included Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Jatin Lalit, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sajid Khan, Jatin-Lalit and Shaan amongst others.
According to unconfirmed reports, the Pakistani High Commission said that they had not received no objection clearance from Islamabad.
The Royal Palm, Golf and Country Club of Lahore had invited the artistes to celebrate Valentine's Day and Basant Festival. They had also sold tickets worth crores of rupees for the said event.
